Bison sp. partial horn bone (228 mm)
Bison sp. (wood bison) partial horn bone. The bison fossil came to the surface during gravel mining in Pest County, Hungary. The dimensions of the bone are approx.: length 228 mm, width 80 mm, maximum thickness 63 mm. Weight approx.: 996 grams + packaging. Sand and gravel calcifications are visible on the horn pin bone. The surface of the bone is preserved with a substance called Polyvinyl Butyral 30 dissolved in ethanol.
