Bison sp. partial horn bone (273 mm)
Bison sp. (wood bison) partial horn bone. The bison fossil was unearthed during gravel mining near Győrújfalu in Győr-Moson-Sopron County, Hungary. The dimensions of the bone are approx.: length 273 mm, width 80 mm, maximum thickness 71 mm. Weight approx.: 1275 grams + packaging. Sand and gravel calcifications are visible on the horn pin bone. The surface of the bone is preserved with a substance called Polyvinyl Butyrak 30 dissolved in ethanol.
