Pleistocene Megaloceros giganteus (Irish giant deer) metatarsal bone. The deer fossil came to the surface during gravel mining in Pest County, Hungary. The dimensions of the bone are approx.: Length: 355 mm, width 70 mm, thickness 60 mm. Weight approx.: 680 grams + packaging. Large drying cracks are visible on the bone. The surface of the bone is preserved with a substance called Polyvinyl Butyral 30 dissolved in ethanol.
