Megaloceros giganteus partial antler (274 mm) SOLD (EB) 04
Partially shed antler of Pleistocene Megaloceros giganteus (giant deer). The Megaloceros fossil was unearthed during gravel mining in Győr-Moson-Sopron County, Hungary. The dimensions of the antler are approx.: the largest distance between the two ends is 274 mm. The largest diameter of the antler rose (crown) is 74 mm. The weight of the antler is approx. 638 grams + packaging. The surface of the antler is preserved with a substance called Polyvinyl Butyral 30. The drying cracks visible on the antler are infused with cyanoacrylate.
