Quercus sp. & Carpinus neilreichii plant fossil from Erdőbénye SOLD (PA) 12
Miocene age approx.: 10-13 million years old Quercus cf. kubinyii (oak tree) and Carpinus neilreichii leaf impression on silicified diatom bedrock. The leaf fossils came to the surface during diatom mining in the Zemplén Mountains near the Erdőbénye settlement in Hungary. The size of the stone is approx: 169 mm x 131 mm x 44 mm. The length of the Quercus leaf impression is approx. 69 mm. The length of the Carpinus leaf impression is 22 mm. The weight of the stone is approx. 829 grams + packaging.
