Quercus sp. leaf fossil from Hungary SOLD (DDF) 02
Miocene age approx.: 10-13 million years old Quercus sp. (oak) leaf impression on silicified diatom bedrock. The oak leaf fossil was unearthed during diatom mining near the Erdőbénye settlement in the Zemplén Mountains in Hungary. The size of the stone is approx: 124 mm x 111 mm x 20 mm. The length of the Quercus leaf impression is approx. 81 mm. The weight of the stone is approx. 230 grams + packaging. Drying cracks are visible on the stone. The surface of the leaf impression is preserved with cyanoacrylate.
