upper tooth of a young Woolly Rhinoceros from Hungary (146 grams)
Upper tooth of a young Coelodonta antiquitatis (woolly rhinoceros). The rhinoceros tooth came to the surface during gravel mining in Pest, Hungary. Tooth size approx: 69mm x 55mm x 64mm. Weight approx.: 146 grams + packaging. The surface of the tooth was preserved with a fossil adhesive called PaleoBond more than 10 years ago. The rhino has not yet chewed with this tooth. The chewing surface of the tooth still has no signs of wear from use.
